Electrical Engineer - Automation - Oldham

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team based in Oldham.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in the design, installation, commissioning and ongoing support of electrical control systems across a variety of industrial applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong electrical knowledge and hands-on experience in PLC programming, commissioning and installation.

This role will suit an ambitious Electrical Engineer looking for a technically challenging position within a stable and forward-thinking organisation.
Role Description:
PLC programming, modification and fault-finding on a range of control systems.
Electrical installation and commissioning of industrial machinery and automated equipment.
Testing and validation of electrical control panels and systems.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults both onsite and remotely.
Supporting project delivery from design through to commissioning.
Producing and updating technical documentation where required.
Working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure successful project completion.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
Occasional travel to customer sites for commissioning and support activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineer or Automation Engineer.
Strong PLC programming experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar platforms.
Proven commissioning and electrical installation experience.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Electrical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent).
Experience with industrial control panels and automation systems.
Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.
