Coventry, Warwickshire | £57,294.07 basic, circa £65,000 OTE with overtime and bonus | 4 on 4 off days and nights | Quarterly bonus and up to 15% employer pension
We’re partnering with a leading UK food manufacturer, home to one of the nation’s most recognisable snack brands, operating within a fast-moving, high-volume FMCG production environment.
The site is a technically advanced, highly automated facility in the midst of a multi-million-pound investment programme over the next three years, building on an already firm commitment to reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement.
The engineering team is mature and well organised, taking a proactive, planned approach to maintenance rather than a reactive one.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a progressive engineering team on a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern, working across high-speed production and packaging lines.
The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, support root cause analysis and play a central role in improving plant reliability as the site’s investment programme continues to take shape.
This role would suit an apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer looking to be part of a well-invested, structured FMCG environment during a period of growth, with excellent opportunities for training, development and career progression.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across high-speed production and packaging equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns promptly and effectively to keep downtime to a minimum.
- Diagnose and repair faults across both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Support root cause analysis to eliminate recurring failures.
- Work closely with production teams to keep machines running at peak performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects across the site.
- Keep accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems.

- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds, with an electrical bias preferred.
- Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer.
- Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or high-speed production environments.
- Proven fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems.
- PLC fault-finding and SCADA experience would be an advantage.
Benefits
- Basic salary of £57,294.07, with most engineers earning circa £65,000 including overtime and bonus.
- 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights.
- Quarterly bonus scheme.
- Up to 15% employer pension contribution.
- Enhanced maternity, paternity and parental leave.
- Structured training and career development programme.
- Private healthcare and wellbeing support.
