Engineering Team Leader - Manufacturing - Manchester

An established engineering operation is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer / Engineering Team Leader to join the team and take a lead role across the site's maintenance and engineering activities.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career, providing day-to-day leadership to a small engineering team while remaining hands-on technically.
You'll be responsible for coordinating a team of three engineers, organising maintenance activities and shift cover, supporting PPM and helping ensure all mechanical, electrical, plant and building systems remain safe, compliant and operational.
The Role:
- Coordinate day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities.
- Lead and support a team of three engineers.
- Organise workloads and shift cover.
- Support planned preventative maintenance.
- Carry out hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Fault find and respond to reactive maintenance requirements.
- Provide technical input into repairs, upgrades, equipment replacement and new installations.
- Coordinate the installation and commissioning of new process equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and produce reports as required.
- Support the training and development of engineers within the team.
- Promote good Health & Safety standards and lead by example.
- Act as a keyholder and provide an emergency/on-call response when required.
About You:
We're looking for an experienced multi-skilled engineer who is confident taking responsibility and leading from the front.
You don't need to be a traditional Engineering Manager. This role would suit someone who is currently a Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Chargehand or Engineering Team Leader and is looking for greater responsibility.
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- PPM systems and maintenance planning.
- Leading or coordinating a small engineering team.
- Delegating workloads and organising shift cover.
- Fault finding and reactive maintenance.
- Health & Safety.
- Plant and process equipment.
- Statutory compliance.
- Supporting installations and commissioning.

The Package:
- Up to £48,000 salary.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x.
- Enhanced rates for Sundays and Saturday overtime after four hours.
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays.
