Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer - Automation - South Cerney

South Cerney, Gloucestershire | Circa £38,000 + OTE £50,000-£60,000+ | UK & International Travel

We are working with a specialist material handling and conveyor systems business that designs, installs, maintains and upgrades automated conveyor solutions for major logistics, parcel handling and industrial customers across the UK and Europe.

The position offers a mixture of UK and international travel, exposure to automation and controls systems, and the opportunity to lead engineering teams on customer sites.

Responsibilities:

• Lead conveyor installation and upgrade projects.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support commissioning and testing.
• Lead site teams and subcontractors.
• Support automation systems, sensors, drives and conveyor controls.
• Work alongside project managers and design teams.
• Provide technical support during critical breakdowns.
• Support workshop activities when not travelling.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong conveyor or material handling maintenance background.
• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Reactive and planned maintenance experience.
• Leadership or site supervision experience desirable.
• PLC fault finding advantageous.
• Experience with drives, sensors, motor controls and automation.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Flexible approach to UK and international travel.
