Wolverhampton | £55,000–£60,000 + overtime | Continental 12-hour days and nights after initial days training
We are working with a fast-growing tissue-converting manufacturer producing toilet tissue, kitchen towel and facial tissue for major UK retailers. The business operates a 24/7 high-speed converting and packaging environment and is building a second nearby site.
Two new engineering roles have been created through growth. You will maintain the packaging lines downstream of the converting operation, covering wrapping, bundling, case packing, palletising and conveyors. The initial training period is on days before moving to the agreed shift pattern.
Responsibilities
Carry out planned maintenance on high-speed packaging machinery. Respond to breakdowns on wrapping, bundling, case-packing, palletising and conveyor systems. Complete repairs to bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, belts, chains and drives, with electrical fault finding where required. Work with production to improve performance, support new equipment installation and commissioning, and maintain accurate engineering records.
Skills and qualifications
Recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification such as apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or ONC/HNC. Proven maintenance experience in FMCG, packaging, corrugated, textiles or batch-process manufacturing. Strong mechanical fault finding and safe basic electrical competence. Packaging or tissue-converting experience is desirable, with plant training provided.
Benefits
£55,000–£60,000, overtime, pension, enhanced holidays, training and opportunities as the business expands.
