Staffordshire (Stoke-on-Trent area) | £50,000–£60,000 basic + night allowance | Monday–Thursday 18:00–06:00, three-day weekends
As Production Manager, you'll have skilled operators, experienced engineers and around 90 people working across the night shift.
What they need is someone who knows how to get the best out of them. Someone who's comfortable managing different personalities, recognises when performance is slipping and knows when a conversation needs to happen before a small issue becomes a bigger one.
You'll be joining a manufacturing business that's growing considerably, which is why they're investing in additional Production Managers to support expanding teams.
Laser cutting, press machinery, robotic welding, fabrication and fitting, all under one roof. As Production Manager, you'll understand the machinery and processes, but it's your ability to organise people, manage materials and keep production moving that will make the difference.
You'll have your own area of responsibility, a dedicated planning department and an in-house production system. The Operations Director started here as an apprentice and understands what happens on the shop floor.
You might already be a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Night Shift Manager. Perhaps you're a Shift Manager looking for more responsibility. A good understanding of manufacturing processes and people management matters more than experience in the exact industry. Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement experience would be welcome.
You'll receive £50,000–£60,000 basic, an additional night allowance to be agreed, Monday–Thursday shifts, three-day weekends, 30 days' holiday including bank holidays (increasing with service), pension, Employee Assistance Programme, free parking and life insurance after two years.
